Google Assistant is Google’s try at an in-house AI Assisted service. Google assistant is getting rave reviews everywhere. The reason for which the Google Assistant is garnering such a huge fan following is that it is one among the most advanced smart assistants out there. Google assistant comes in as a direct competition towards Apple’s Siri and other mainstream digital assistants.

This can be a simple case of the device not showing you the latest features it has updated. Here, we will show you how to enable the Google Assistant on your android device (especially Marshmallow and Nougat based).
Step 1: Update Google Play Services and get it to the latest version after which you can enable Google Assistant.
Step 2: Update the Google App to the latest version. The Google App or Gapp is one of Google’s inbuilt apps. If the Gapp is not updated automatically when you connect to a Wi-Fi network, you can manually update it from the play store.
Step 3: Change the language to English (US) and clear the cache memory. This is the final and one of the most overlooked steps when it comes to enabling Google Assistant. Change your language and the cache memory within the settings.
Step 4: After you have ensured all the above steps have been strictly followed, press and hold the home button. You will see white borders filling the sides of the screen and the Google Assistant window coming up.

You will be asked to pin down your preferences, and then the voice recognition procedure begins. You can skip the process although we don’t recommend this and it’s better to take your time in setting up your assistant.
